A seven-year-old boy was shot dead after a bomb exploded at a police station in Myitkyina's Le Kone quarter earlier this morning.

A local resident told KNG that the dead child was from a house on the outskirts of Le Kone Kyun Pin Thar near the police station, where a bullet hit the child.

"The baby was lying in the room. The bullet penetrated the wall and hit the boy in the chest, killing him instantly," he said.

He added that the administrator and police drove the child to the hospital.

Another child died in Myitkyina, a year after a military coup.
