KNLA and PDF jointly attack military convoy in Thaton

Mon State Thaton Township The Thaton PDF reports that a mine was planted on the Rangoon-Mawlamyine road between Moe Kaung and Patimyo villages at around 1 am today, according to Thaton PDF.

The attack was carried out by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 1; Two battalions and a PDF unit joined forces to attack, killing four military council soldiers. Four people were injured and the People's Defense Forces were able to withdraw unharmed, the statement said.

A child was shot in the leg in a house on the side of the road after gunmen opened fire for about 10 minutes after being hit by a landmine.

Similarly, in Kayin State; Kya In Seik Gyi Township In Tagay village, two KNLA battalions were killed and three others were seriously injured when local KNLA battalion 17 attacked the military council yesterday (January 24).
